In the ancient city-state of Gujaareh, peace is the only law. Upon its rooftops and beneath its streets reside the Gatherers, the keepers of this peace, who wield the power to read dreams and use them to heal, soothe or kill. The Killing Moon follows the story of Ehiru, a gatherer who struggles with his faith as he finds himself on the brink of a powerful conspiracy. Ehiru and his apprentice Nijiri are drawn into the machinations of corrupt prince Eninket. As the two gatherers work to uncover the depth of the prince’s betrayal, they confront their own beliefs and the ramifications of their actions. The intricate and vivid world-building showcases the city’s dual nature, where beauty and corruption exist side by side. The story weaves politics, religion, and personal conflict into a rich tapestry of complex characters and moral dilemmas.
