Orion Cregar is the protagonist of the novel ‘For Lack of a Bed’. He is a poor laborer in a futuristic Earth where sleep has become a commodity. Struggling to afford the expensive service of sleep, he is forced to stay awake indefinitely. As he becomes involved in a movement to overthrow the corporations controlling sleep, Orion transforms from a weary laborer to a symbol of resistance and hope for change in the society.

[“I refuse to accept this reality where sleep is a luxury only for the rich.”,”We may be exhausted, but our spirits are awake and ready to fight for our rights.”,”The darkness of night brings not just fatigue, but also the realization that we deserve better.”]

Orion has disheveled brown hair, tired but determined blue eyes, and a slightly hunched posture from prolonged wakefulness.

Resilience, determination, strategic thinking
