Mori Phelps, also known as Morwenna Phelps, is a young girl from the industrial valleys of Wales. She possesses significant magical abilities, allowing her to have adventures with fairies and witches. After a confrontation with her mentally unstable mother, Morwenna is left injured and her twin sister dead. To escape her mother’s magical malevolence, she runs away to her father in England and enrols in a boarding school. Despite her magical abilities, she finds solace in science fiction books and navigates through the challenges of adolescence, love, and the constant temptation of using her supernatural powers.
