Raven Stratagem

Raven Stratagem is the second book in Yoon Ha Lee’s Machineries of Empire trilogy. It continues the tale of the hexarchate, a space-faring civilization ruled by a totalitarian regime that uses calendar-based technology to oppress its citizens. The story focuses on Kel Cheris, who is inhabited by the ghost of an infamous general, Shuos Jedao. This time Jedao seeks control of a fleet to stop an impending war. However, his loyalty is questionable, leaving many wondering if he’s saving the hexarchate or plotting its downfall.
