In Mary Robinette Kowal’s ‘Glamour in Glass’, Jane and Vincent, having just married, travel to the continent for their honeymoon. There, Vincent has a chance to study glamour with other practitioners in Belgium. However, their idyllic trip is marred when Napoleon escapes from Elba, throwing the continent into turmoil. Unfortunately, Vincent’s glamour work attracts the attention of French soldiers, and Jane and Vincent’s escape back to England becomes a desperate race against time.
