The Graveyard Book is a young adult fantasy novel by Neil Gaiman. The story follows a boy named Nobody Owens who is raised in a graveyard by ghosts after his family is brutally murdered. The book opens with the murder of Nobody’s family by a mysterious man named Jack, who is part of an organization called the Jacks of All Trades. Luckily, the toddler escapes to a nearby graveyard where he is taken in and raised by the supernatural inhabitants. As Nobody, or Bod, grows up, he learns the ways of the dead and the living, encountering various otherworldly creatures and beings. Throughout the book, Bod has a number of adventures and learns about his family’s fate and his own destiny. The novel explores themes of family, destiny, and the boundary between life and death.
