13-year-old John Bell tells his friends that his family’s home is haunted. The house, sitting on the haunted hill, has a history stretching back to a murder-suicide in the ’50s. Now, it’s up for sale, and John is hosting an open house. The house has its own plans. It has spent decades cultivating a taste for the macabre and has been waiting for John’s open house to show off its spectral inhabitants and frightful past.
