Barsk: The Elephants’ Graveyard

In Barsk, the elephants (known as Fant) have developed the ability to speak and have outlawed human speech. They have reached a point of technological advancement where they can create islands and orbit them around the planet. The novel focuses on one such Fant, a historian named Jorl, who uncovers a conspiracy about the trees that produce a drug that allows the Fant to talk to the recently deceased, revealing a sinister plot.
