Trail of Lightning by Rebecca Roanhorse is set in a post-apocalyptic world where gods and monsters from Navajo folklore roam. The story follows Maggie Hoskie, a monster hunter with supernatural abilities who is called for help after a girl goes missing. Struggling with inner demons, Maggie must confront her past, with the help of trickster god, Kai, and uncover the true monster terrorising Dinetah.
