The Stone Sky, the third novel in the Broken Earth trilogy by N. K. Jemisin, concludes the post-apocalyptic saga of a supercontinent called the Stillness, afflicted by periodic, near-extinction-level ‘Seasons’. The book follows Essun and her daughter Nassun – both ‘orogenes’ with the ability to manipulate thermal and kinetic energy. As Essun tries to harness her powers to end the Seasons forever, Nassun plans to use her powers to destroy the world that has tormented her and her kind.
