The Stone Sky is the third book in The Broken Earth series by N.K Jemisin. The story splits between Essun, her daughter Nassun, and the past story of a character named Hoa. Essun, having now fully realized her powers, must work with her estranged daughter Nassun to try to save what is left of the Earth. Nassun, on the other hand, has her own ideas about what saving the world looks like. Hoa’s backstory fills in historical details of the world and its current state of constant seismic activity.
